Blackstone, VA newspaper, Courier-Record, was filled with all kinds of information this week. Below is something that really caught my attention:

Have you visited Sailor’s Creek Battlefield State Park? This Saturday and Sunday, March 1st and 2nd, from 10 am until 4 pm there will be a Living History program, featuring reenactors and CSA artillery firing on the hour (11 am until 3 pm) and period music! This battlefield site is key to General Robert E. Lee’s decision to surrender at Appomattox court House, ending the war in Virginia.

Sailor’s Creek is a 3 1/2 hour drive from Northern Virginia, 1 1/2 hours from Richmond, 2 hours from Roanoke, 3 hours from Virginia Beach, and just 30 minutes from Blackstone, Va.
